ASG Offroad Quick disconnect solar panel installation guidance

*Read all steps including sub-sections prior to installation*
  1. Unpack the smaller of two boxes and lay out all parts and group them together.
    1. Enclosed will be the following...
      1. 4-aluminum brackets
      2. 12 spacer plates
      3. 12 track nuts
      4. 12 1/4-20 screws
  2. Once everything is laid out you'll begin with spacing out the cross bars to 28 1/2" apart.

  3. Insert 6 of the track nuts on each crossbar.  You'll want to space these out using the holes on the mounting bracket as a guide.

  4. Loosely attach the mounting bracket to the cross bar with the spacer blocks in between the two to.  You'll want these lose enough to make adjustments.

  5. Position the mounting tracks with the red latches approximately 1/8"-3/16" away from the roof rack mounting plate.  This will allow operational clearance of the latching mechanism. Do this on both latch mounting tracks.

  6. Now measure about 57 1/8" from the edge of the latching mount to the edge rear most edge of the rear mount.  Do this on both sides.

  7. Tighten the mounting tracks with the red handled compression latches to the cross bars.  When you perform this you'll want to make sure to lift the mounting track upward.  This will aid in the solar panel sliding the panel back into place.
    1. Pro tip... it will be easier to tighten the tracks via the outer most screws first while lifting the track upward.

  8. Beginning with the rear most screw, tighten the rear track mount while pulling upward.  Similarly to what you did in the last step.

  9. Now tighten the forward most screw of the rear track mount.  The difference with this one is you'll want to push it down towards the camper.  You don't want it touching...maybe a 1/16" or so above the camper.

  10. This creates a ramps of sorts so the solar panel slides into place and does not get caught on it.

  11. Installation of the mounting track is complete but there are a few more steps!!

  12. Now slide the solar panel into place with the side opposite of the latching hooks first.

  13. Once fully inserted secure the panel with the compression latches.

  14. You'll want a little bit of clamping force to prevent the solar panel from moving around while on/off road. If needed you can adjust the compression latch by shortening the clasp and then tightening the nylon nut against the compression latch.  DO NOT over tighten these clamps as it may damage the solar panel, clamping hooks, etc.

  15. Once secured, attach the carabiner clip to the locking hole to prevent the compression latch from accidentally unlatching.

  16. Now for the quick disconnecting deployment!!  Unlatch the carabiner clips, unlock the compression latches, and slide out the solar panel.  Place the solar panel on its side and unlatch the runner securing band from the collapsable legs and viola!!!  You now have the industry's first quick disconnecting solar panel (see a quick deployment video here)!!

This is the most important part...step back and admire your new ASG Offroad quick disconnect solar panel kit, and prepare for your next adventure as All Systems are Go for Offroad!
